What to do before treatment
To obtain maximum results from IPL Photofacial treatment, it’s important to follow these simple pre-treatment instructions:
Mark the date of your appointment on the calendar. Then mark off a 2-week period on the calendar with the words: “NO SUNBATHING”. Sunbathing can interfere with the laser skin treatment procedure.
If you’re having areas on your face and neck treated, don’t wear any make-up on those areas when you come in for treatment. The area should be as clean and clear of chemical substances as possible.
How does it work?
IPL Photofacial targets a broad spectrum of light to the lower layers of the epidermis, causing blemishes to fade and promoting the production of new collagen and connective tissue, which supports the upper skin layers and makes the skin surface smoother.
How long does it take?
Each treatment usually takes up to 30 minutes. Treatments are spaced 3 weeks apart. You will see a noticeable improvement with each treatment. In total, 5–8 treatments may be needed for optimum results.
Side Effects
Side effects of IPL Photofacial are minimal and may include temporary redness or swelling. Sometimes temporary blistering or bruising can occur. Any redness can be easily covered with make-up.
