What is the Process for the Sculptra Treatment?
Similar to the derma fillers, the usual pre-treatment precautions include avoiding Aspirin, NSAIDS such as Motrin, Vitamin E, Ginseng and other medications or supplements that might cause increased bleeding or bruising. And to minimize any discomfort, an anesthetic cream may be applied prior to the procedure.
Sculptra is injected into the selected areas of treatment which were previously determined according to your desired results. An average time of treatment is thirty minutes or longer, again, depending upon the individual.
What is the Post Procedure Care and Possible Side-effects?
Following the procedure, the injector will gently massage the areas of treatment to smooth or assure an even dispersement of the product. It is advisable to massage the treated area, usually, five minutes, five times a day for a period of five days.
For a few days after the procedure, your face will appear fuller due to the water content of Sculptra. But this temporary fullness will disappear, within a few days. The lasting effects of the treatment then start to build over a period of weeks or months.
Other side effects following your Sculptra session may include some redness, tenderness at the injection sites, bruising, bleeding or swelling. These signs usually dissipate within a few hours to a few days.
Many people return to their normal activity immediately after the procedure and usually makeup may also be applied shortly after treatment.
