Ancient Greece, Rome and Egypt were, actually, the forerunners of the modern day cosmetic and skin care industries. Red ochre pigment, henna, kohl, body oils and perfumes were only a few of the products used to pamper both men and women alike. And among the most beneficial skin treatments, the chemical peel also made its earliest appearance.
Today Skinmedica has developed an innovative line of essential skin products to rejuvenate and revitalize the skin.
As with all of their luxury skin care treatments, their popular chemical peel products are the results of decades of medical research and clinical testing. They are scientifically formulated, and most importantly, patients give them rave reviews.
What is a Chemical Peel?
Aptly named, the chemical peel literally removes (or peels) the damaged, outer layer of your skin to reveal a newer, fresher, more supple layer of skin below. Fine lines and wrinkles, mild scars, skin pigmentation, sun or age spots, rough patches and other premature signs of aging or sun damage are among the most common skin conditions the peel will reduce or eliminate. And the results are noticeable and lasting.
Radiant, clearer, smoother-looking skin dramatically renews your youthful, vibrant appearance.
What is the procedure?
Skinmedica products cater to the individual client’s need and expectation. With your doctor’s consultation, you will determine the condition and type of your skin and your personal goals. Then you select the right Skinmedica chemical peel treatment product: Illuminize Peel, Vitalize Peel or Rejuvenize Peel and the number of treatments you will require (from one to six) to reach the look you desire.
While the level and depth of the selected peel will differ, the procedure is the same. First your face will be cleansed and the product applied. A short period, from five to ten minutes, will create a burning, stinging sensation, similar to a sunburn. The reaction will, obviously, depend upon the level of the treatment. Cold compresses may be used to reduce the discomfort.
Are there side effects?
Again, depending upon your specific treatment, there will be some redness and scaling. The skin will crust and peel within three to seven days.
We will provide you with detailed information, precautions and after care to meet your individual needs and alleviate whatever discomfort might develop.
The chemical peel is one of the least invasive of the “non-invasive” procedures. Rather than addressing deep, structural changes or loss of volume and firmness, the chemical peel is for the outer areas of the skin itself.
Skinmedica chemical peel products and procedures are only available at approved physicians’ offices. Your Laser Skin Care in Los Angeles Is pleased to provide you with our expertise and care in your chemical peel procedure.
