Follow these winter skin rejuvenation tips!

Keep Your Skin Beautiful and Healthy This Winter

Posted on December 26, 2016 by Ella Fedonenko

Colder weather, lower humidity and indoor heating can be harsh on your skin, resulting in irritation, inflammation, and increased sensitivity. Follow these simple tips to keep your complexion looking healthy and beautiful this winter.

Be Gentle with Your Skin
During the summer months, many of you prefer to use exfoliating scrubs and cleansers with drying ingredients like salicylic acid. These products can be harsh in winter, leading to redness and irritation. As the weather cools, switch to a gentler skincare routine and opt for lukewarm water when bathing. Try a cleansing balm or creamy hydrating cleanser, and trade in your scrub for a gentle enzyme exfoliating mask—your skin will thank you for it!

Hydrate
Moisturizing is the key to a beautiful skin. Slather on a rich body lotion after you shower, and add a deeply hydrating moisturizer to your skincare routine (if you don’t use one already). Using a humidifier in your bedroom at night can also help add some moisture to your skin while you sleep. And, as always, don’t forget to drink at least 8 glasses of water every day.

Protect
To keep your skin beautiful this winter, you’ll need to protect it from the elements. Gloves, scarves, and hats can be lifesavers for your skin during winter months. And because skin in colder weather tends to be more sensitive, it’s also best to avoid irritating fabrics like wool. Heavily-scented products can also be irritating to your skin, so consider switching to a hypoallergenic, fragrance-free laundry detergent.

Rejuvenate
Winter is actually an ideal time to indulge in cosmetic treatments like chemical peels, IPL or laser skin resurfacing, since you are less likely to be outside this time of the year.
